Where I am from

I am from the land of Om,
The land where thousand battles were fought
The land of sacrifice and peace
I am from where I am from

I am from the land of a thousand gods
The god of love, the god of warfare
I am from the land of Hindus
I am from the land protected,
by the soldiers of the mighty gods.

I am from the land of tigers
The land where peacocks dance their compassion
I am from the land of thousand lotuses
From the land of many flowers.

I am from the land of the Mughals
The land were Shajahan’s love
Made the Tajmahal for Mumtaz
From the land of Tajmahal standing like
A moon on the earth

I am from the valleys of Ganga;
The holy river of devotion, the purified land
From the vast forest of Sunderbens
Where the lions rule the forest of equality and rights

I am from the land of many rituals
Of peace and eternity
My land is like the purified piece of independence
The land of many gods, the land of thousand battles
The land of a thousand people

I am from the democracy that none other than my
Land own
I am from the nation of Congress
From the country where Queen Jhansi and Bhagvat singh
grew prospered fought and died

I am from the land of “Jan Gan Man”;
The lines I say with proud
I am from the country of Bharat
I am from the land of red fort; the true symbol of blood and war
I am from the land of brave men; the land of Vande Mataram

I am from the holy land where
Jayadeva wrote the Ashtapadi of compassion and love
I am from the land where R.N Tagore wrote the national Hymn
I am from the verses of Bharat Mata ki Jay

I was sowed into the soil of my home land
My heart spreading from Gujarat to Nagaland
My mind going deep into the midst of Indian Ocean
My soul stretching from Jammu Kashmir to Kerala
My land of many dreams, the country of many hopes
I am from India……
