Safe Journey

So as you guys know I was very busy with school over the last few weeks. Finally I got time to write about something.

Students in US public schools have public school buses for transportation. They are the little yellow/orange elongated buses. Going to school and coming back from school is just like how we do it in India. But there is only one difference, students are safe during this process. Every bus that belongs to the Public School transportation is under close surveillance with a radio for the driver to report any mishappenings. In all states of USA there is a strict policy that the School Buses have the right of way, meaning when you travel behind a school bus on a car or something, you cannot overtake the school bus and when the buses stop for loading the students all vehicles on both sides of the roads are supposed to stop for the buses.
All buses have a stop sign and a bar that are retrieved from a socket automatically when the bus stops and when you have these blocking the lane you are to stay in the lane and not to cross by....(look at the stop sign on the one above)
All the students are seated on the bus none of them stand and ride on the bus. Drivers make sure everyone sat down before departing. And they make sure that the buses follow all the traffic laws...

Now...Isn't this something our country, India can also do? How many times do we have to hear about the children who die in terrible mishappenings while crossing the road to go home from the bus?
We have the resources in our country...but are we using it for the betterment of the next generation?
Our resources, government organizations and other utilities are constrained to the few influential people...but we call our country developing?
