Ottoman Empire
The Ottoman invasion brought down Constantinople in 1453, the first thing i remember when i hear Ottomans. Now Ottoman empire's succession came into existense as early as 1289 by Osman Bey, in the borders of Byzantium as a non-sgnificant group Turks who imigrated from Anatolia in 13th century. Osman and his followers became Ghazis, or religious fighters. In 1326, Ottomans successfuly captured the Anatolian city of Bursa(which became the capital to the Ottoman empire itself) after that, in 1352 the throne of Gallipoli was overturned by Ottomans, which inturn added more ghazis into the Ottoman force. The city of Edrine or Adrianople became the 2nd capital of the empire.the establishment of societies in newly conquered lands encouraged the Ottomans to push forward for more land. In 1453, Constantinople was captured by Ottomans and thereby marked an end to the Byzantine throne. As the state became more sophisticated, recruits from Balkan (usually young boys) were converted into ghazis and were recruited as infantry or cavalry men. Soon the Ottomans instituted the system fo devshirme which required Balkans to convert into ghazis and join the Ottoman force as Janisseries.
The capture of Constantinople by Mehmed 2 or Mehmed the conquerer marked a significant milestone in the Ottoman expansion. Mehmed became the emperor of 2 lands, Europe and Asia as he went on and conquered many european and asian landmasses.
Suleymand the Magnificient is one of the most important rulers of the Ottoman empires, and under his reign the empire reached its peak. He conquered Baghdad and added tigris and euphrates into the Ottoman world. He rised as a serious threat to the Hapsburg family of Europe. Suleyman killed the King of Hangary and captured Belgrade in 1521. Suleyman commissioned large navy troops and thereby made Ottomans a huge naval power. Thus Suleyman became a threat to almost all of the Chirstian kingdoms of Europe.
Ottoman empire lasted till its dissolution in 1923....
